SSS Hydrangea Blooms - Wednesday Challenge

Welcome!

I've had this beautiful stamp and die set since Stamptember 😆 of 2016, it was definitely time for a card! My inspiration came from the gorgeous card that Nicole Spohr created for the Stamptember release.

I combined the Hydrangea Blooms set with the SSS You Matter background, stamp set and die. I stamped the background on Neenah Desert Storm 80 lb card and embossed it with detail white embossing powder. I stamped the happy birthday sentiment from the set on black card and cut it into a strip to go across the front. I die cut the "You" from white fun foam and a piece of dark purple card I had in my stash.

The blooms were stamped on Strathmore ready cut watercolor card with SSS intense black ink and colored with my Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolor set. The leaves I stamped with Tim Holtz distress inks in a couple different shades of green; bundled sage, forest moss, and shabby shutters. I added some sparkle to the flowers with my Spectrum Noir crystal clear marker. Lastly, I added the Pretty Pink Posh 4 mm droplets for accent.

Thanks for stopping by! See you next time!

SSS Monday Challenge - Transportation

It was time for a birthday card for my nephew and when I saw that Simon Says Stamp's Monday Challenge was transportation I knew it was time for a space ship and a galaxy background. I really liked the look of Yana Smakula's recent galaxy background post and that's what I was shooting for here. It ended up lighter than what I would've liked, but I did use some of the Finetec Mica watercolor paints and the gold shimmer turned out wonderful. Unfortunately it's hard to see in the picture!

And what do you know, I ended up being selected for the Designer Spotlight for Simon Says Stamp's Monday Challenge. I couldn't have been more excited! Thank you again to Marzena for picking my card!

See everyone again soon! Thanks for stopping by!
